Bristol trip 2017
This was our itinerary:
Day 1: Visit dad's friend's new restaurant and check into the hotel in Bristol
Day 2: Tour of Bristol taking in Museums, Chinese supermarket, Cathedral and library
Day 3: Day out in Cardiff, Wales
Day 4: Tour of Clifton Suspension bridge and visit yet another Chinese supermarket/Ikea
Day 5: Climb Cabot's tower, visit Roger's restaurant again before driving home to Guildford
Day 1
It was a mad rush in the morning as was expected, stuffing clothes in suitcases and last minute deciding what to pack. Each kid was allowed 1 teddy bear to bring as well as a book. We did eventually set off around 9.30am as we needed to arrive at Keynsham to visit dad's friend's new restaurant at around 11am to 12pm and it takes around 2 hours to drive there from Guildford.
The drive was pretty boring, going along Surrey's suburban and country roads, going around Bracknell until we reached the M4 motorway. It got a bit interesting, half way, when we started to see lots of snow settled around and dad certainly felt he had to drive a bit more carefully in case the car might skid out of control.
When we got off the M4 towards Bath, there was still quite a lot of settled snow and we tried to stop at a side road to take a photo but the roads were quite busy with traffic. We carried on some country and suburban roads until we got near Keynsham, much to dad's relief with the annoying drone of "are we there yet?" and "how much longer?" coming from the kids.
